Extreme situations require extreme solutions. It’s not that long since our last server upgrade, but increasing demand and amount of visitors forced us to upgrade again. And I wanted to be sure this server will last for a while so I decided to order a slightly more powerful box. Just check the specifications: * Intel Corei5, 4x 2.66+ GHz, 8 Mb L2 – FSB 1333 MHz * Intel SSD X25-M 2x 80 GB – SATA2 * 8 GB DDR3 * Gbit Etherner NIC Yes, this is Quad core with 2 SDD drives. I completed the transfer few hours ago and so far it looks amazing – this server is way more powerful than other 2 we had until now. The load went almost immediatelly from 20-30 to values as 0.5-2 and there is still plenty of free RAM. As with every server upgrade, it’s possible there will be some bugs, but right now it seems to work pretty fine. If you find some problem, feel free to post it in the comments. Let’s hope this solution will make the site rock stable again!
